Out of an abundance of concern and caution, and in light of the new Covid-19 (Coronavirus) CDC guidelines for public gatherings, we have decided to temporarily cancel all Overlea Community Yoga classes until further notice. However, we will continue to update our Facebook page regularly with items that may be of interest to you like motivational offerings and practices you can do at home. We will let you know as soon as we are given the go ahead to resume our community practice.
We practice Yoga to train our bodies and mind for optimal health. Yoga brings balance in every aspect of our being, helps us manage stress, builds strength and alignment of our bodies, massages and rejuvenates internal organs. But Yoga is so much more. By taking a journey inward it's inviting us to remember who we are and what our gift is to this world for the benefit of us ALL.
The Overlea Rising Phoenix Yoga group was founded in the summer of 2016 by Zana, a resident of the Overlea community who now resides in Zenica, Bosnia. You may find out more about Zana by clicking on her name or through the "Our Teachers" menu item on this web site.
Currently, the Overlea Rising Phoenix Yoga curriculum and community Yoga classes are being directed by Sarah Weitzel. Sarah teaches classical yoga and a typical class includes: Yoga philosophy, chanting, breathing, meditation, physically challenging Asana poses, and deep relaxation including balancing of our energy centers (Chakras). Please, join us as we learn to get to know ourselves and our neighbors through the wonderful healing power of Hatha-Raja Yoga.
Each class is suggested donation of $5-$10. Mixed level classes / beginners welcomed
“Yoga is especially necessary at this point in time, when life appears especially confusing and filled with tension, stress and distractions. It helps one to slow down in life and re-align oneself with the harmony of the universe and find peace within. It will help diminish cravings and bad habits, and bring you a disease-free body, a balanced mind, radiant health and long life. Yoga brings very special results. It is the door-opener to intuitive knowledge and Eternal Bliss.” ~ Yogi Gupta
